We have designed the new V6 for simple Rotax installations using 10mm banjos and 6mm bore pipes and initial reactions have been very positive.
At the same time I have been trying to get some definitive installation data from Rotax for their range of engines. The outcome is unexpected and is a demand for 3/8” pipes; -6 fittings and full flow return systems for all their engines.
There is another demand from Rotax to protect the fuel injection system from back pressure when the fuel valve is closed and the fuel lines are heat soaked in the engine bay. The limit pressure is 7psi. One can install a by-pass line with a non return valve, or leave the fuel switched ‘on’. We have no answer for V6 but have delayed the introduction of V9 to build in an internal by-pass.
